Chapter 28 - Chapter 21 Part 1

Bo He didn't sleep comfortably.

Curled up like a cooked shrimp on the cold, hard stone, no one would be comfortable.

When she opened her eyes, both of her arms were numb. Her body couldn't help but tremble slightly as she stretched her arms out straight.

The clothes covering her naturally slid to the ground.

Bo He turned her head to look back. On the ground was an unfamiliar jacket.

She naturally picked up the jacket and started looking for its owner.

Wei Feizhou and Qin Chuan were no longer chatting.

Bo He had slept for over half an hour; it was impossible that they had been talking for that long.

The former was looking down, playing an offline mini-game on his phone, while the latter was standing a short distance away, gazing upward as if looking for an easier way back.

Bo He quickly noticed that Qin Chuan wasn't wearing a jacket, only a thin shirt.

But the jacket that had been covering her didn't match Qin Chuan's trousers.

Her gaze fell in another direction, meeting the eyes of Wei Feizhou's assistant, Xiao Zheng.

Xiao Zheng stared back blankly.

Bo He: ......

The jacket she had on was Xiao Zheng's.

And the jacket Xiao Zheng was wearing was Qin Chuan's.

But Xiao Zheng had injured his leg and couldn't even walk, so it was impossible for him to have stood up and given her the jacket.

Bo He was a little confused.

"He gave his jacket to Xiao Zheng and had Xiao Zheng's jacket put on you."

Someone at the side quickly said.

Bo He turned her head.

Wei Feizhou was still looking down, playing his mini-game, as if a ghost had spoken those words.

Bo He: ......

She couldn't understand Qin Chuan's train of thought. He wanted to show concern with a jacket, but couldn't just give it directly. He had to take a huge detour, first giving his to Xiao Zheng, then having Xiao Zheng's given to her. The two jackets were about the same thickness. Could it be that Boss Qin wanted to express friendliness to Wei Feizhou by showing concern for Xiao Zheng?

Bo He tried to understand Qin Chuan using this roundabout logic and found that it wasn't impossible.

She took the jacket and went to find Qin Chuan.

Qin Chuan also seemed a little cold. A gust of wind blew by, making him shiver slightly just as he turned around.

He saw Bo He striding over, holding the jacket.

"Boss Qin—"

Qin Chuan wasn't used to such sudden attentiveness and couldn't help but take two steps to the side to avoid her.

A sudden pain shot through his ankle!

He almost couldn't stay on his feet.

"Watch your step." Bo He finally managed to finish her sentence, reaching out to support him.

Bo He was very innocent: "...I was just trying to warn you. I didn't have time."

Qin Chuan didn't feel like talking anymore.

If time could rewind a few seconds, he definitely wouldn't have moved a single step.

Although he had suffered some superficial wounds in the earthquake, they were just scrapes and scratches that wouldn't even need antiseptic back home, but now—

In the faint light of the sky, Qin Chuan looked down at his slowly reddening sock, feeling as if his lifelong reputation had just been washed down the drain.

The blood wasn't flowing that fast, and it wasn't a broken bone like Xiao Zheng's, but the pain was piercing. Qin Chuan frowned.

Bo He said, "Can you still walk? Shall I carry you on my back?"

Carry him?

Qin Chuan looked at her petite frame, and the corner of his mouth twitched.

"No, thank you."

He tried to manage on his own, but every step was slow, and he limped.

In the end, it was Bo He who supported his arm, consciously taking on nearly half of his weight.

Qin Chuan glanced at her. Her small body was as steady as a mountain, every step firm, giving one an supreme sense of security.

In that instant, the figure of "Peppermint Tea" suddenly overlapped with Bo He.

Wei Feizhou, whether intentionally or not, only stood up, shook his legs, and cried "Ouch!" when the two of them drew near.

"Young Boss Qin, how did you get hurt?"

Qin Chuan didn't believe for a second that he hadn't seen him twist his ankle just now, yet Wei Feizhou acted quite surprised.

"You were careless while walking, the ground is covered in rocks. I thought it was Bo He who got hurt, I didn't expect it to be you. Come, come, Bo He, let go. I'll help him!"

Bo He let go as prompted, and Qin Chuan had no choice but to transfer the weight from his injured, useless foot onto Wei Feizhou.

You don't know until you try. And upon trying, he discovered that the strength Bo He had used to support him was not only on par with Old Wei's, but possibly even greater.

Bo He's eyes met Qin Chuan's inadvertently.

His expression was subtle, complex, and full of meaning.

Bo He: ?

She thought to herself, could Boss Qin think she has ulterior motives again just because she helped him for a moment?

With this thought, Bo He couldn't help but shuffle a few steps to the side, trying to maintain a safe distance.

Qin Chuan was baffled.
