Chapter 145 - The Leisurely Mahjong Hall Part 1

As the ship was about to set sail, Number Six stood on the dock, waving and shouting, "I will take good care of Young Master Jun. I will send you messages every day, so don't worry!"

Shi Jin stood at the bow of the ship and waved back at him, calling out to Number Five.

Number Five, understanding what he wanted, signaled to the captain's cabin.

The ship slowly started moving, steadily leaving the harbor. Shi Jin looked towards the direction of the complex building, until the ship was completely out of sight of the island's scenery, before turning back and withdrawing his gaze.

Number One and the others stood behind him, silently watching him.

"Get ready for the meeting, let's go to the conference room," Shi Jin announced, gathering his emotions.

Number One and the others responded in unison, turning around and heading towards the conference room to prepare for the meeting. After they left, Fei Yujing stepped forward and stood in front of Shi Jin, blocking his way and frowning at him.

"What's wrong?" Shi Jin asked, puzzled.

"Instead of seeing you calm and steady like a real adult, I'd rather see you cry a little," Fei Yujing said, taking a pair of glasses out of his pocket and placing them on Shi Jin's nose. "When you don't want people to see what you're thinking, you can wear these to cover up. The lenses will reflect light and cover up some of your expressions, so others won't be able to scrutinize your emotions."

The glasses were plain lenses with a thin gold frame, and they felt a little heavy on Shi Jin's nose. He had never worn glasses before, so he was very uncomfortable.

"When you want to pretend to be a pig and eat a tiger, wearing glasses can be very effective," said Fei Yujing as he pulled out another pair of glasses and handed them to Shi Jin. They were round-framed glasses with a simple black plastic frame that was so light it almost had no weight when held in the hand. Clearly, they were glasses suitable for students to wear.

"Speaking less always appears more powerful and difficult to provoke than speaking more. Having no expression on your face always appears more mysterious and reliable than having a variety of expressions. Although looking down on people from a high position is somewhat impolite, you don't need to be too polite in the situation you're going to."

Shi Jin listened dumbfoundedly as Fei Yujing calmly imparted his lessons on how to deceive people, taking a step back in silence.

Fei Yujing reached out and pulled him back, asking, "What are you stepping back for? Learn well."

"You're so scary," Shi Jin honestly expressed his thoughts, feeling frustrated without a visible cause. "It's just glasses, yet you can come up with so many things. Dealing with someone like you, I feel like I could fall into a trap at any moment."

Fei Yujing raised an eyebrow and said, "Your way of being cute is quite unique. You want to provoke me and then argue with me to vent your emotions? Forget it, I'm not the third brother. If you really want to let it out, my shoulder is available for you to cry on."

Shi Jin remained silent.

"If you want to be cute, just be direct. You don't have to be so twisted. As your older brother, I won't make fun of you." Fei Yujing ruffled his hair and gestured towards the boat. "Whether you cry or not, if you want to, I'll take you to cut onions. If anyone asks, just say that the youngest suddenly wanted to eat onion noodles."

Standing quietly on the side, Li Jiuzheng immediately clarified himself: "Second brother, I don't like onions. Don't use me to bully Xiao Jin."

Use? Bully?

Fei Yujing was really going to be driven crazy by these two younger brothers. He felt that one was neurotic and the other was an idiot, and there was no hope for them. He simply grabbed Xiao Jin's arm and said, "Let's go, don't stand outside in the wind."

Xiao Jin was stunned as he was pulled away, and it took him a while to react. He poked himself in the heart and frowned, reflecting on himself: "I deliberately angered Fei Yujing just now... Was I trying to act cute?"

Xiao Si replied, "Definitely not! Xiao Jin, how could you act cute towards Fei Yujing? He's so fierce and rigid. You should act cute towards me. Dad loves you..."

Xiao Jin said, "...Thank you, but no thanks." He gathered his thoughts and glanced at Fei Yujing, who walked ahead with reliability and steadiness, and then at Li Jiuzheng, who walked beside him.

He felt a little uncomfortable and weak, with all sorts of emotions swirling around in his mind. But strangely enough, these emotions helped to dissipate the discomfort that had been weighing on his heart. He exhaled lightly, exerted a bit of force to retract his hand, and said, "I won't go to the kitchen. The meeting is about to start."

Fei Yujing and Li Jiuzheng both stopped and looked at him.

"...After the meeting, I'll go to the kitchen. Let's have a good meal today to improve everyone's mood." He said, taking off the glasses that Fei Yujing had given him and putting them in his pocket.

He waved to them and strode past them towards the conference room. Fei Yujing and Li Jiuzheng watched him leave, and Li Jiuzheng's expression slowly faded. "Second brother, I like to eat onion noodles, if Xiao Jin needs it."

"He really needs it." Fei Yujing withdrew his gaze and rolled up his shirt sleeves. "Let's go, prepare the onions."

......

After half an hour of meeting with Number One and others, they made preliminary arrangements for the trivial matters after boarding the ship. When Shi Jin left the meeting room, he hesitated for a moment, but still went to the kitchen.

Fei Yujing and Li Jiuzheng were already there, one kneading dough and the other watching the fun, but the atmosphere was still harmonious. When Shi Jin came in, Fei Yujing pointed to the ten or so onions on the cutting board and said, "Cut them."

Shi Jin glanced at him, walked to the cutting board, picked up the knife and onion, but didn't move.

He always felt like he would lose to Fei Yujing. Fei Yujing was just a guy who only cared about his own interests and didn't care about anything else. Why did he act like he knew everything? Who would want to accept this awkward kindness?

"Are you arguing with yourself again? Do you need me to cut one for you as a demonstration?" Fei Yujing appeared beside him, flipping an onion in his hand.

Without hesitation, Shi Jin stepped aside and handed the knife to Fei Yujing. He said with a straight face, "Then you demonstrate it for me."

Fei Yujing glanced at him and stepped up to the cutting board. With a swift motion, he sliced the onion in half and then chopped it into thin slices and small cubes. The pungent aroma of the onion filled the air, causing Fei Yujing's eyes to turn red and tears to stream down his face. But even as he cried, he maintained his usual cold and indifferent expression.

After finishing the demonstration, he tossed the knife aside, washed his hands, and wiped his eyes with a handkerchief. Then, he returned to his normal self and said, "Your turn now."

Shi Jin felt completely defeated. How could someone cry so calmly? He was deeply affected and was about to accept his fate and receive the punishment of the onion. Suddenly, Li Jiuzheng ran over, pushing aside Fei Yujing and grabbing his knife. He picked up an onion and started cutting it with his head down. In no time, tears were streaming down his face and even his nose was running. He looked quite miserable.

Shi Jin was a bit foolish and reached out to pull him: "Fifth Brother, what are you doing?"

"Xiao Jin, cutting onions is like this, there's nothing to it." Li Jiuzheng dodged his hand, speaking with a wrinkled brow while sniffing. He looked incredibly silly.

As Shi Jin looked at him, a sour and soft emotion rolled over his heart, even though he hadn't been cutting onions, his eyes were starting to feel hot. He turned his head, took a deep breath, and suppressed his emotions before taking the knife from Li Jiuzheng's hand and saying, "You guys are cutting it too ugly, it's a waste of ingredients. Let me do it. Do you want onion rings? I'll fry some later." As he spoke, he picked up an onion and sliced it directly.

With a crisp sound, the blade cut through the onion and touched the cutting board. Before he could completely separate the onion, tears flowed uncontrollably from his eyes.

It had been over a month. When Lian Jun was receiving treatment, he didn't cry. When Lian Jun was fighting for his life, he didn't cry. When Lian Jun was in so much pain that he couldn't eat and his body was getting thinner by the day, he still didn't cry. Later, when Lian Jun fell into a coma, he wanted to cry, but he couldn't.

The meeting was about to begin, and he was the deputy leader. If he also collapsed, what would the others do? If he didn't believe, more than anyone else, that Lian Jun would eventually recover, how could the others focus on their work?

Suddenly, he understood why Lian Jun had refused treatment before and had stubbornly refused to show any weakness. He had chosen to be the backbone of everyone, and he truly had no position to be weak. "This is too spicy, no wonder Third Brother made such a mess of himself back then..."

he said, his vision already completely blurred, unable to see what he was cutting in his hand. The panic and fear that had been suppressed for over a month quickly spread, and he wanted to hold it in, but once he opened his mouth, he couldn't hold it in anymore. The person lying on the hospital bed was the one he loved, how could he really be calm and strong?

Fei Yujing looked at his trembling shoulders, took the knife from his hand, and pressed his head against his own shoulder, saying, "Cry, let it all out. Everyone can tell that Lian Jun must be in trouble if you're holding it in like this."

Shi Jin reached out and grabbed his clothes, unhesitatingly wiping his tears and snot on him.

Fei Yujing turned his head and endured, pretending not to feel the sticky sensation on his shoulder. "Second brother, you're despicable," complained Li Jiuzheng, still not at ease.

Fei Yujing looked at Li Jiuzheng's stupid face, which had just been crying, and rubbed his forehead with a headache.

He wondered why he hadn't noticed before that these younger brothers were all so stupid.

He really wanted to just ignore them like he used to, but... He raised his hand and rubbed the back of his head, and with the other hand, he resigned himself to embrace Shi Jin's back, gently patting him.

......

After a good cry and a night of deep sleep, Shi Jin woke up feeling like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He felt like he had been reborn, with a clear mind and relaxed nerves. Even the sunlight looked like it was in color.

It's true that people need to pour out their emotional garbage regularly. He let out a sigh of relief and sat up, thinking of Fei Yujing and Li Jiuzheng's faces.

Shaking his head, he checked the progress bar for Lian Jun and saw that it was still stuck at 500. Feeling slightly relieved, he got up and splashed cold water on his face in the bathroom.

The drowsiness disappeared completely as he looked at himself in the mirror, noticing his slightly swollen eyes. He clenched his fists and thought, "Sleeping Beauty" is still waiting at home, and he must return safely to wake up his baby!

"Let's go, Jin Jin!" Xiao Si suddenly spoke up, full of energy.
